What is Member ID?

A Member ID is a unique combination of an alphabet and a eight-digit number (for example: 1234M5678). To identify you uniquely, a Member ID is assigned to you when you register with us. This Member ID is to be referred in all correspondence to grandmatrimony.com

How do I Login?

Under the "Member Login" section, enter your "Member ID" and "Password" in the respective boxes and Click on the "Login" button to login to your account.

Also, instead of Member ID, you can login using the email address you provided at the time of registration.

I forgot my Member ID/Password. What should I do?

Click on the "Forgot Password" link in the home page and enter your "E-mail address" or "Member ID". Your "Member ID" and "Password" will be mailed to you immediately.

How do I change my password?

Login using your "Member/eMail ID" and "Password" Under "Profiles" section in the left navigation, Click on "Change Password".  Enter your old password. Enter your new password and confirm the same. Click on "Change Password" button. Your new password will be immediately activated. Please use the new password the next time you login.

Why am I not able to login or why is the message "Invalid Member ID/eMail ID or Incorrect Password" being displayed?

The password you have entered might be wrong. Alternatively you might be having the Caps lock "On". Please check whether the password is entered in the correct case (Upper or Lower).

Please ensure that there are no spaces in the Member ID typed. For e.g., it should be 1234M5678 not 1234 M 5678.

If you have forgotten your password, please click on the "Forgot Password" link to retrieve the same.

The E-mail ID you are using to login must be the same one with which you had registered on the website. Alternate E-mail IDs which you may possess will not function.

Can I choose my own Member ID?

Every Member ID is unique and is allocated by the system. You cannot choose your own Member ID since it is system generated. It cannot be changed under any circumstances.

I'm registering for my sister/brother and me. Can we both have the same Member ID?

A Member ID identifies each person uniquely. Please register separate profiles for you and your sibling.

How to upgrade my profile to Premium Membership?

You can send payments to upgrade your account to our office through cash/cheque/DD/MO.

I've made the payment. But my profile still is in free category. Why?

We make sure that every profile is upgraded as soon as we receive payment.

If you have made the payment and your profile is still in the free category, please send your complete payment details to support@grandmatrimony.com

How long will it take to upgrade my profile, once I make the payment?

We will upgrade your profile as soon as we receive your payment.

Is it possible to personally visit your office and make the payment?

Yes, You certainly can!

How do I make the payment through post/courier?

You can send cheque/DD/MO along with your Member ID to our address. Please send cheques in the local currency of the office to which it is sent.

How long will it take to upgrade my profile if I have made the payment by Cheque/DD through post or courier?

We will upgrade your profile once we receive your payment. If you have made the payment and your profile is still not upgraded kindly contact our office or send a mail to support@grandmatrimony.com along with your payment details

How do I add my profile?

The form to add your profile will be displayed. Give all the necessary as well as optional details asked in the form. Click on submit button.

Give as many details as possible, including your contact details in full. This will increase the chances of your profile being displayed when our members search for matches.

After you submit your information, your profile will be automatically created and you  shall be generated a "Member ID" for future references.

All the profiles are validated before inclusion in the database. It may take up to 24 hours for the validation. An E-mail would be sent to you once the profile is added.

The profiles are validated for statutory regulations of the site to avoid pornography and various other factors and to have uniformity in the database.

Why do you take 24 hrs for validation?

Validation of profiles is done manually. Our support team meticulously validates each and every profile carefully on specific criterion before it is added to our database. Hence, it takes 24 hrs to validate all the profiles that are being added on one particular day.

On what criteria is the validation done?

Almost every word counts. We categorically ignore profiles that are submitted by underage persons, and profiles that contain abusive content. We reject profiles that contain invalid data such as added for fun/ looking for Friendship/Not related to marriage. We try to maintain the highest quality in our database served.

What are the DO's and DON'Ts while creating a matrimonial profile?

DO's

While creating a matrimonial profile, give brief information about yourself in the profile description part. Try your best to touch upon various aspects of your life like (what kind of a person you are, your likes and dislikes)

Your educational and professional background and achievements

Your family (how many members, family values - conservative or modern)

Your career plans

Your expectations from a life-mate

Add a recent photograph to improve chances of getting responses

Our suggestion: Profiles with photos have 15 times better chances of getting proposals.

Don'ts

Please do not give a lengthy description. Try to keep your description short and complete and do not get into the minute details.

Please do not try to display your contact details in your matrimonial profile, except  in the space provided for contact details.

Do not include content that is vulgar or racist.

Can I register for my friend, relative or sibling?

Yes! In fact we have a number of profiles being registered by Parents, Siblings, Relatives etc.

What should I enter in the profile description field?

This is where you reveal yourself - your personality, your likes and dislikes, your educational and family background, career and personal interests and expectations from your partner. Try to give a clear self-description and enter your expectations clearly and completely. A good description will always fetch instant responses. Look at the sample profile below, which is clear, brief and has all the important details in a well-organized manner.

Example:

I am a friendly, fun-loving person. I have a pleasing personality. I did my Bachelors in Dental Surgery. I am working as an associate doctor in a private clinic for the past 3 years in Hyderabad. My hobbies are listening to music (any kind of music, whichever is soothing) and traveling.

We have an open minded, religious family. Father is a retired Asst. Professor AP. state government and mother is a religious, simple, loving and caring house wife. I have two brothers- both elder and married. Elder one is an Engineer in Indian Air lines. Younger one is employed in a reputed MNC.

My ideal partner will be some one who is intelligent, caring, broad minded and has a good sense of humor. I believe that love, trust, understanding and commitment are the four pillars of any relation and this is what I am looking for in my partner

What information will be displayed to members from my profile?

All fields except your e-mail address and telephone number will be displayed to free members.

Can I register profiles for my sibling and me with the same eMail id?

No, you should have unique eMail ID for different profiles.

I don't want to add my profile but wish to contact other profiles. Is it possible?

Profile addition on the site is mandatory. Without adding a profile you cannot proceed to contact other members. When you add your profile, a unique Member ID is assigned to you. This id is required for you to login, make a payment and contact profiles. However, if you do not want your profile to be displayed but are interested in contacting other members, we would suggest you to become a Premium member and hide your profile. Hidden profiles cannot be viewed by other members. In spite of being a hidden member, you can View/Contact other members.

How do I modify my profile?

To modify your profile contents, login using your Member ID/eMail ID and Password, under the "Profile" section in the left navigation, Click on the "Modify Profile" option.

You can modify the profile contents that are displayed and confirm it by Clicking on the "Modify Profile" button.

Are there any restrictions on modifications?

All members are restricted from changing their gender. All other contents can be modified by the member as often as they wish to do so.

How do I delete my profile?

To delete your profile:

Select the "Remove Profile" option in homepage and enter the Member ID and Password for deletion.

Please note that profiles once deleted cannot be restored or reactivated.

If you found your life-partner through our services then please post your success story in our website. Your success story is our key motivation.

Is it possible to restore the deleted profile?

Your profile once deleted from our database cannot be Restored/Reactivated.

How can I search for suitable profiles?

There are two different methods to search for profiles: Quick Search and Advanced search.

What is quick search?

New to our site? Or just want to have a sneak preview of the profiles registered with us? Then quick search is the ideal search option for you.

Under the Quick Search option, enter the age limit and select your relevant language. You can also choose to search for profiles with and without photos. You will get a list of profiles that match your preferences.

What is advanced search?

Advanced Search is designed to cover every aspect of your search criteria and this will deliver profiles matching your specific criteria. Advanced Search has additional options of searching for profiles using keywords, caste no bar option, search on the basis of residing state and physical status to further bring profiles closest to your expectations. You can also search for manglik profiles.

In advanced search, what should I enter in the "keywords" field?

Using the "Keywords" field in the Advanced Search feature you can search for profiles that contain a specific detail, which cannot be searched with our regular search. In such a case you can enter the details in the "Keywords" field in the advanced search form and get a list of profiles that match this word. (For example: if you want to search for doctors, you can enter the keyword as "doctor")

How can I search for profiles in and around a city?

Please use the "Keywords" field in the "Advanced Search" option to search for the profiles based in and around a city (eg: Enter Bangalore in the 'keywords' field to get profiles based in and around Bangalore.)

How do I view a particular profile?

Enter the Member ID of the profile, and click on the "View Profile by ID " button. The profile details will be displayed.

I get the error "No matching records found" while searching for the profiles. Why is that so?

Please check your search criteria. If you are searching for a particular sub caste, try rephrasing your spellings. We suggest you to use partial names or try all the possible spellings in the sub caste field, for example: Brahmin, Bramin, Iyer, etc. to get profiles of a particular sub caste.

What is the use of free membership?

A free membership is ideal for starters. As a free member, you can  Post your profile

Add your photo to it (optional),  Receive mails of matching profiles

You can receive messages from Premium members. The messages sent by Premium members will be stored in your "Received Messages" folder in your "Member Account" directly along with their e-mail address and other contact information(if they have mentioned). You can login to your account to check the received messages.

I'm a free member. Can I send personalized messages to a member?

No. Only Premium Members can send personalized messages.

Also if a Premium member contacts you, their message will be stored in your "Received Messages" folder directly along with their e-mail address and other contact information (if they have mentioned).

I'm a non-member. Can I contact a member?

As a non-member you can only search for profiles of brides and grooms registered on our portal. But to contact them you have to become a premium member.

How do I add a photo to my profile?

Login using your "Member ID/eMail ID" and "Password"

Click on the "Manage Photos" link under the space reserved for your Photo.

You will be taken to the Add Photo Page

Click on the "Upload Photo" link

Click the 'Browse' button and select the digital photo (in JPG /GIF format) you wish to add to your profile.

Click on "Add Photo" to add the photo to your profile.

The photo will be added as your Main Photo. You now have the option of adding up to 3 photos to your profile. You can also manage your photos and decide which should be your main photo.

I am encountering problems in adding my digital photo to my profile. What do I do?

Please send your photo as an E-mail attachment to photo@grandmatrimony.com in JPG/GIF format, along with your Member ID and password. Please mention which photo should be added as the main photo. We will add the photo to your profile and send you the confirmation.

I do not have a digital photo. How do I add my photo?

If you do not have a digital (scanned) photo you can send your photo to any of our offices, with your Member ID and password. Please mention which photo should be added as the main photo. We will scan the photo and upload it for you. This service is absolutely FREE. If you want your photo to be returned to you, please include a self-addressed envelope with I prepaid postage.

Can I add more than one photo to my profile?

Yes. You can add a maximum of 2 photos to your profile.

Can I choose which photo should be displayed as the Main Photo in my profile?

Yes. You can manage your photos and choose what should be displayed as your Main Photo in your profile.

How do I change a photo in my profile?

Login using your "Member ID/eMail ID" and "Password", click on the "Add/Manage Photos" link under the space reserved for your Photo. Click on the "Change Photo" link below the photo you wish to change.

I got an error while uploading my photo. What could be the reason?

You could have got an error if your file is not in JPG /GIF format or if the file size of the photo is more than 100 KB. We accept digital photo files only in the JPG/GIF format and less than 100 KB in size.

In what size should I upload my digital photo?

The maximum size acceptable for a digital photo is 100 KB. If your photo is more than 100 KB, please email it to photo@grandmatrimony.com with your Member ID and Password. We will reduce the image size and upload it for you, absolutely FREE.

I don't want to add my profile but wish to contact other profiles. Is it possible?

Yes! You can contact Free and Premeium members of opposite gender.

What are "Sent Messages" and "Received Messages"?

"Sent Messages" folder contains a list of messages that you have sent to other members.

"Received Messages" folder contains list of messages that you have received from other members.

Login using your "Member ID/eMail ID" and "Password"

Click on the "Sent Messages" or "Received Messages" under "Messages" section to view a list of profiles and respective messages sent and received.

When a recipient has viewed your message, the icon is displayed against the respective message in your Sent Messages folder. Also, the date on which the recipient views your message is displayed under "Date-Read" column.

How can I improve my chances of finding a match?

While adding your profile, try to give a clear self-description. Try as far as possible to include details of your personality, family and educational background, career and profession. Keep the description brief and precise. For example:

"I am a simple and straightforward person coming from a conservative Brahmin family. I am a b.com graduate with intense inclination towards my career and development. My hobbies include singing and painting. Ours is a close-knit family of four. My father is a retired civil engineer and my mother is a homemaker. Elder brother is married and well - settled. I am looking for a partner who is intelligent and well-settled preferably working abroad.

Enter expectations about your partner clearly and completely.  Add your photo to your profile as profiles with photos get a better response.

Become a Premium member and login often to make your profile stay on the top of the search results display.

Login often to search through the latest profiles and initiate contact.

Set "Partner Preference" to automatically receive new matching profiles through e-mail.

I did not receive any response for my profile. Why?

On an average, around 1% of the profiles are entered with misspelled E-mail address or wrong E-mail address. If you have not received any E-mail from our system, please login using your "Member ID/eMail ID" and "Password" on the home page and click on the Modify Profile option to correct the E-mail address. Also,

check whether you have given a clear self-description.

Try to enter your expectations clearly and completely.

Add your photo to your profile as profiles with photos get a better response.

Take full advantage of your Premium membership and search frequently for matching profiles and contact them.

How do I advertise in the Indian newspapers?

You can give matrimonial advertisements in leading Indian newspapers through our website. You can track your order status online.
